May
20 - 26, 2013
Still needing
rest after busy days, but fatigue is not as bad. Nausea has gone away, but
still not a big fan of some foods or smells just yet. Most food causing a
slight heartburn.
Starting to feel
tiny flutters in my abdomen. Still listening in on heartbeat. Doctor
appointment on Monday, May 20, 2013 for 16 week checkup and ultrasound. Baby
was moving around a lot, had legs crossed and we had a little bit of trouble at
first getting a good angle to determine gender.
Ultrasound tech
finally got a good angle and asked Matt and I, “Are you ready?”
“Yes!”
“It’s a girl”
I think I said, “Oh
Matt, it’s a girl!” and grabbed his arm/shoulder.
Matt grinned and
said, “Nice job, Sweetie” and patted me on the arm.
Dr. came into
room and said, “I have nothing but good news for you.” Talked to Dr. about the
spotting and she said it sounded like I knew my triggers so I am not to lift
anything heavy. Baby looked great, cervix looked great - I felt so blessed to
have such a positive visit.
Dale was in town
and came to the appointment and we called her in after finding out the gender so she could watch the remainder of the
ultrasound. We saw a hand wave and after how active she was at first once we
got the gender she decided to roll into a little ball and go to sleep. We got
some 3D photos of her little face and we caught her sucking her thumb. In the
4D live version we watched her hands go to her mouth over and over. She looks
JUST like her daddy already.
Name: Beatrice
Cade Crockett
After the
ultrasound Matt had to go back to work so I waited for the Doctor on my own,
but took the time to call my Momma, Daddy, Aunt Andrea and Aunt Margaret to
share the news: It’s a GIRL and THINK PINK! :-)
Response from
Aunt Andrea: “She’s a thumbsucka!”
All family was
VERY excited.
Texted Heather,
Jessica, Martin and Maggie. Matt texted Michael for me as I wasn’t sure I had
his right cell number.
Dale called Ed in
the waiting room.
Matt told ALL his
coworkers at a meeting that day.
I went home after
the Doctor appointment to upload my CD of photos onto my computer and I called
my Grandma to share the baby news with her. She was very excited. Said, “I
would have been excited either way.” and “A girl...that’s good...we like
girls.”
Bea received her
first outfits that night from her Mimi. A bee onesie, a few newborn sleepers, a
“Daddy’s Sweetie” onesie, and a couple others. She also received an AU bib and
booties set earlier (given directly to Daddy by Mimi.)
Dale also brought
a pink gift and a blue gift that we would open after we found out the gender.
The pink gift was a cute pink and purple stuffed elephant rattle with ribbon
tags.

your mom and my grandma.

From Michael:

Matt: I’m not
accepting Chastity, Serenity, Jade, Asia, or Candy

From Martin:
Wow. A girl. I
would not even know where to start. But that is awesome. Throwing a little

Me:
We'll def.
have a Florence shower of some sort. Maybe even two since all my folks are in
Colbert County. I will def. check out the place in the Kmart shopping center.
Or at least send my mom there for some Grandma supplies.
We went in for
the 16 week ultrasound yesterday and we're having a girl! Matt's very excited.
She'll be Beatrice Cade Crockett, but of course we're already referring to her
as Sweet Bea.
Thanks for
your sweet messages! - Ash
Allison Terry
Webb:
Can I tell you
how much I love the name Beatrice?!?! It is adorable! YAY for a baby girl--you
will have so much fun! As a side note, we call Palmer sweet p, but I am
guessing we will need to end that soon since he's a boy and all....so I am glad
there is a sweet bea out there. . I am seriously so excited for y'all! If you
were closer, I'd offer to loan you our swing/bouncy seat/ etc, but it would be
a kinda long trip! You guys are going to be great!
How are you
feeling?

Had a gender reveal with cookies made by Kendall Jeffries at work. Ginny, Liz, Nkenji, Sandy, George, Shannon, Karol, Dr. Dorn, Teri, and Judi (and others) all gathered around my desk to bite into the cookie. There was pink in the middle. Sandy bought me pink “It’s A Girl” balloons to keep behind my desk and most of the other students/faculty found out from them. Drs. Zalaquett and Tan say hello to me AND Bea whenever they come in.

We threw a big party for Memorial Day. Lots of folks saw Bea’s ultrasound photo, the nursery, and congratulated us on the pregnancy.

Memorial Day - Spent in Orlando with Michael and Bethy. Saw The Great Gatsby, ate snacks at the Port Orleans hotel, lunch at the Irish Pub, ate dinner at the Polynesian Resort and watched fireworks from the Polynesian Resort beach. VERY long and tiring day, but, very fun.
