Week 13

Week 13
January 31 - February 6

This week Popi, Aunt Flossie (as we are so affectionately calling Andrea) and Uncle Robert came down for a quick visit.

The dogs stayed in Alabama with my dad for the month of January - which was, coincidentally, the coldest I can remember it being in Alabama in years. Some nights were in the single digits and some days never made it out of the teens. Poor puppies got a winter vacation. But I think they enjoyed the spoiling they got from my dad.

They drove down so they could bring the dogs and some other items that got left in Alabama from the holidays. It's a rough drive. I really appreciate they are willing to make that trip.

Bea was happy to see Popi at her house Friday morning.

She was also happy to wear the hat that her Mimi made for her.

Dale sent this hat down with my dad and I LOVE how cute it is.

She also made matching flip flops - TOO cute.

They arrived very early on Friday morning (3 a.m.) and went straight to bed. We got up Friday to some rainy weather and decided to get some breakfast at Cracker Barrel and shop at Ikea. Bea was happy to tag along on all these trips. She chilled in her stroller and looked up at the lights and smiled at us when talked to her. She loves to go shopping because there's so much to see.

She started riding in her big girl stroller seat this week. I face it toward me and kick it all the way back so she's nice and reclined. She's got a bit more room to stretch in the regular seat as opposed to using the car seat.

Saturday we headed up to Tarpon Springs to visit the sponge docks and to eat some delicious Greek food.

Me and Bea in our matching sunglasses at the sponge docks.

Sponges drying on the docks.

Pelicans begging for fish as the fisherman work on cleaning the fish.

Bea and Popi ready in their sailor gear.

Bea the mermaid.
Popi bought this shirt for her.

Sweet Bea - worn out from playing with Popi while we shopped and sleeping like an angel.

Daddy is trying to stay awake while giving a bottle on the way home.

Popi, Aunt "Flossie" and I went shopping at Buy Buy Baby on Saturday night.
Bea needed some baby toys - I hadn't really registered for anything like that 'cause I wasn't sure what she would like. So far her favorite is this red football. She played with it in the store the entire time. She was determined to get it into her mouth.

She also got some bath toys.

She loves the foam floaty toys. She usually tries to chew on the red crab.

The family left Saturday night headed back up to Birmingham. By Sunday afternoon everyone was in their homes and resting. So glad they came down and so glad they made it home safe.

The rest of the weekend and week were pretty low key.

Baby girl always wakes up with a smile on her face.

Sunday after church - I love to get photos of her in these adorable dresses.
This is a Ralph Lauren dress I got on consignment. A great find!

She's so ladylike.
(with the exception of her post-bottle burps)

Precious.

Playing with daddy.

Kinda over the photos with Momma.

So we snuggled instead.

Jolly girl.

Fell asleep while shopping with Momma.

Happy morning smiles.

More dresses.
This dress is one I found at Goodwill. Love it on her.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this blue dress. It's a hand-me-down from my Aunt Nancy's friend in Alabama.
I had wanted my mom to make Bea a blue dress with pink smocking so when I found this one in the package of dresses and clothes from my Aunt I was VERY happy. My mom sent it to me. :-)

Bee onesie from Mandi, Rob and Charlie (and Caroline - though we got it before Caroline was born).
Bee shoes from Cracker Barrel.

Sweet baby giggles.

She's really feeling much more like a baby than an infant in the past two weeks. She's napping much shorter during the day and sleeping great at night. She's started taking a bigger bottle. She's also gripping the bottle really well and starting to boss me around and directing where she wants it to be held. She's got an independent streak in her like her mom.

She's given us her first few giggles. Usually after we tickle her neck or whisper in her ears.

She's playing with toys, reaching for toys, putting toys in her mouth, etc.

She can do a pretty strong head lift when on her tummy and as she fusses during tummy time she ends up spinning herself in a circle.

She gets bored if she's sitting in one place to long or feels we aren't showing her enough attention. I have to move her around during the day to look at different things, feel different textures, etc.

She loves for us to hold her facing us and let her stand in our laps.

She loves to blow bubbles and raspberries. Some of them are hilariously timed or sound very "fart"-like. Matt was complaining about something he didn't like the other day and Bea punctuated his sentence with a big loud raspberry noise. She obviously agreed.

She loves to talk and make noises. She makes different sounds and can go from a crying noise to a laughing noise in seconds. She loves to explore her voice.

Smiling and talking to Uncle Robert in the car.

Mommy dresses Bea much nicer than she dresses herself.

Posing on the pink carpet and Stevie decides to inspect what we're doing.

Chewing on her dress. Posed on the quilt hand made for her by Ms. Sherry - Uncle Robert's mom.

More fun with Popi.
