39 weeks

Currently: 39 weeks and 4 days
Left to go: 3 days

Three Days.....

3 days?

THREE DAYS?!

How can that amount look so short and seem like an eternity all at the same time?

Probably because I am MORE than ready to meet this baby gal.

39 weeks and 4 days
Mommy's Feeling:
READY.

I saw the doctor on Tuesday, October 29th. She joked about me STILL being pregnant. I didn't mind as I laughingly thinking the same thoughts. Especially still being pregnant after being 3cm dilated for the past 2 weeks.

She offered to do a membrane sweep - where they separate the amniotic sac from the uterus just around your cervix. This is supposed to release a hormone that can speed up the labor process. She said it could take 24-48 hours to work - IF it worked.

She preformed the procedure and it wasn't too painful. She said I hadn't dilated much more than I already was. I crossed my fingers. (SPOILER ALERT: I'm writing this on Friday with no contractions, no water breakage and no baby....BOOO!)

She said Bea's heartbeat was higher up in my belly than it normally is for a baby as gestationally far along as she was. I know Bea has moved up and down a lot - just the other day I had to go below my belly button to hear her heartbeat at home, but in the Dr. office on Tuesday her heartbeat was back up above the belly button line.

While the Dr. was checking the cervix, performing the sweep and checking other things she also checked to make sure Bea's head was down and she wasn't breech. She pressed one hand the top of my belly while she was doing the check and laughed when Bea started kicking her. Apparently Bea didn't like anyone messing with her head down there.

She said all looked good and said she wanted to go ahead and schedule an induction for BB in case I need it. I was glad to hear this as, for many reasons, I didn't want to let her stay in there too far past her due date on Monday.

Went to our friend's Halloween Party on Saturday.
I was a housewife and Matt was the Milkman.
Bea's Feeling:
She continues to move around a lot. She's kicked Matt in the back a lot this past week when we've been in bed. I like feeling her little kicks. She did feel higher up in my pelvis this past week, but since this morning has started to feel low again.

She'll get another sonogram on my Due Date appointment on Monday - if she doesn't come before then...hint hint, BEA! They want to check my fluid levels to make sure they are still safe for her.

They'll also do a Non stress test where they monitor her movement. This is just a normal test they do to all babies who are past or to the due date - just to ensure they are still doing ok in there. I am thankful for all this monitoring as it helps me feel good about how she's doing.

The big news this week is that my induction is scheduled for Thursday, November 7th. If Bea doesn't decide to pick her own birthday between now and then, that is. I feel much calmer and less anxious knowing there's an end in sight. So this weekend marks our last weekend as a family of 2 adults and 2 dogs. I feel like I should do something more momentous than just hang out at my house to commemorate this occasion - but, just in case BB decides to come this weekend we feel like we should stick close to home.

Our porch on Halloween night.
Bea decided not to be a Halloween baby - which is fine with me.
She can trick or treat one week and celebrate her birthday the next.
SUGAR OVERLOAD!!!

Daddy's Feeling:
I'm just ready for her to be here.
I hope it goes well and that she gets here safe.
I'm glad we're at the end.

So - due to the induction next Thursday this could very well be my last post before Bea arrives. Pretty amazing.

I have been incredibly blessed throughout this pregnancy with good health and good cheer. My prayer has been and will be that both those continue through her birth and her life. Both for me and for her.

Thank you for sharing this 20 week journey with me, Matt and BB.

Can't wait to start keeping track of her weekly AGE!

Upcoming Events:

November 4th - DUE DATE

November 4th - 40 week appointment

November 6th - Pre Induction Appointment

November 7th - Induction Day!

Steve is ready to welcome Bea anytime she decides to come.
She may have trouble sharing the headbands and bows, though.....
