Week 1 - November 8th - 15th

Week 1
November 8 - 15, 2013

The first week with Ms. Bea went very well. She had her first pediatrician appointment that week, came home from the hospital, met the puppies, explored her home and  went on her first walk.

She's a happy baby. She likes to snuggle. She still likes her hand up beside her face when sleeping.

I'm blogging this well after the first week has passed, I will say that so far - that first week was the toughest.

When we got home from the hospital poor Matt got sick with a stomach virus that kept him uncomfortable and nauseated for a few days. It was rough on both of us. He was feeling to sick to help with Bea and I was dealing with Bea alone while also dealing with my hormones doing a bit of a crash after the pregnancy. It was not fun.

I told my friend Jessica that the first week was, "Longest/worst/best/fun time of my life. Pretty much any superlative will cover some point of this week." - probably the most honestly I have answered a question when someone has asked how I'm doing.

Before we headed home from the hospital we had a few more visitors:

Heather came to visit on Saturday

Snuggles with Mimi

Leticia came by and brought flowers.

A glimpse of our little world for the first few days.
Luckily Matt and I are small enough we can both fit in the hospital bed together so it was very cozy.

Midnight snuggles with Daddy.

She wore an outfit made by my Momma home from the hospital. VERY special.

Sung as a bug in her carseat on the way home.

Wil says "hello".

And keeps an eye on the new baby.
Once we got home we started adjusting to life as new parents.

And we take LOTS of iPhone photos.

This girl is such a sweetie and brings joy to us everyday.

We've turned into the folks who talk about how cute our baby is constantly. We discuss faces she makes where the subtle differences in the face can only be noticed by a parent. :-) We discuss diapers, feedings, nursing, spit-up and other bodily functions we never even THOUGHT about before.

We are completely smitten and in love.
